So the "DA mascots" group (which are the main 4 I use) have now been focused the changes lie in 3/4 characters, Gameon is the same as ever before but tosho's personality I was thinking he could be a fairly proud bean but doesn't get anywhere far or fast.

Axial who is now a little sassier than before which is what I wanted her to be in the first place, but never really managed to pull it off for reasons unknown.

Snowball is the quiet caring type who cares for most but doesn't like conflict she finds it scary.

I am going to be beginning character focusing today, some of my older characters that where not my best designs (such as hikari, voltar etc.) they will recieve complete overhauls new design and new personalities some will just have their characteristics re-focused as over the years they have strayed further from what I wanted them to be what characters will be overhauled the old designs will be free to take if you have any use for those old designs feel free to take them anyways im going to start with animachu and Gameon as they are fairly simalair
A thing id do just thought id be fun

1. What was my first username?

2. What was my first character?

3. how old am I in real life?

4. What is my real name?

5. what was my first post?

6.  how old was I when i created my first character?

7. What was my first post on this account?

8. When did I join DeviantART?

9. who was my first character that was of my own design (no redesigns/reboots)?

10. which character got re-booted first

11. who is my second most recent character?

12. what is my sexual orientation (gay, bisexual, hetro etc.)

13. where do i come from?

14. which was the first image I created on Paint.net?

15. which was the first image I created on FireAlpaca?

16. I have a dog what breed is he

17. What is his name?

18. who was the first chikaki ever created?

19. how many characters do i currently own

20.did you enjoy this quiz?

feel free to copy and paste this if you want to try this with your watchers and of course feel free to personalize and eliminate/add questions make it personal to you! have fun! Ow<
So im kickstarting my old comic series BYOI and i thought id poke some cameos here and there so post your character below and if i use it ill credit you they wont interact with the characters just easter eggs or characters in the background poked throughout oh and so ya know the cameons are not just limited to the comic itself can be one of the little Chibis on top of the frames
All you need to do for a kiriban is to screenshot the page veiws when they are at the kiriban or get as close to it as you can

If you win you get a free drawing from me so good luck

Congrats to :icongabthenostalgic: for capturing the Kiriban at 25,006 veiws

Not to worry I have returned

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 26, 2017, 9:34 AM

Yes I am back I'm so sorry for making those of you where where concerned for my account and I thank you greatly for your concern

If your wondering what has actually happened basically my PC went AWOL and decided that it didn't like its OS anymore and wiped it off completely all my pictures, programmes, video and music where all wiped and for some reason my social medias where also caught in this mess and have been on lockdown for the past couple of days so ive been waiting the timer out to reactivate

once again I am sorry for this technical hiccup but I have purchased a new OS and a new SSD top put it on (as my old hard-drive was I think 9 years out of date so yeaaah I guess something was going to go wrong at some point)

anyway not to worry for I am active again

Cheers!

I thought maybe you may be interested in what kind of work i do for my assignments im doing a lv.3 BTEC college course in engineering this is just one assignment i still have about 5-6 left to do im up to date they just havent been issued yet

anyway:

Task 1 (P6):

Tube sets (frame):

Normally bike frames would be constructed from tubes of aluminium or steel. Higher end bike frames are often made from composites such as carbon fibre, or materials such as Kevlar, bamboo or bone. These types of materials are much stronger, and much lighter than conventional metals. However they are also much more expensive and require far more labour to manufacture products.

To create a bike frame from carbon fibre, the manufacturer would use a process known as “wet layup” (the resin is applied after the carbon fibre is laid) The manufacturer first begins layering carbon fibre sheets together in a mould or around a rod, this is done in accordance to a pattern specifying the angle of the layer. An example of this would be, if the specifications state “2- +45”, this means that layer 2 should be placed at a 45° angle, if the specifications stated “20- -90” this means that layer 20 would have to be set at a -90° (otherwise known as 270°) angle. The variety of angles and layers affects the strength of the final product.

https://image.slidesharecdn.com/manufactureofcomposites-160303194926/95/manufacture-of-composites-12-638.jpg?cb=1457034871

The carbon fibre product is then put in an airtight bag with a one way suction valve. A vacuum compresses the carbon fibre against the mould to make it more accurate to the desired shape, it is then heated in an autoclave (a pressurised oven) to cure the carbon fibre construction by curing the resin, once it is removed the carbon fibre frame is cleaned up from any excess material. Carbon fibre may be expensive but it is incredibly light and roughly 10 times stronger than steel, it is beneficial therefor for racing sports, prosthetic limbs and aircraft construction.

Joining lugs

The joining lugs are considerably smaller than the frame they are going to be attached to and due to their complex shape, wet layup is not possible. So the manufacturer creates these parts by means of a process known as “dry layup”. This is similar to wet layup, however they are key differences, Dry layup has the resin already infused with the carbon fibres. The layering process is the same. After the layering process, the carbon fibre construction is then compressed in an airtight bag by means of a vacuum and moved into an autoclave to cure the resin fibres within the carbon fibre matrix.it is then removed, trimmed, and then installed onto the frame.

Suggested matrix materials

What is referred to as the matrix in a composite construction is the fibres that make the product up these fibres can be a wide range of materials such as carbon, Kevlar, fibreglass, metals, polymers, ceramics, and many others, including bone.

Suggested reinforcement materials

In composites the reinforcement material is the resin on the outside bonding the matrix together. Materials include compounds containing epoxy, silicon, or polyurethane.

Tooling techniques and equipment

Carbon fibre and other composites may have many advantages over various metals, such as an incredible strength to weight ratio, but it is very expensive both to purchase and to produce. Reason being is that specialist equipment is required for the forming of the composite itself, equipment such as an autoclave, a mould and an airtight vacuum bag. Other non specialist equipment is also required, such as a pillar drill if the manufacturers design requires holes in the composites. A Dremel or cutting wheel is required to trim the excess from the composite mould and if required the manufacturer may also need a CNC mill for additional work, especially if the cutter the manufacture has access to is too small for the holes specified, in which case the manufacturer would need to bore the hole. (boring is enlarging a hole to a specified diameter, only CNC mills can do this accurately).

Secondary finishing requirements

Depending on the product being created both methods require trimming up to remove the excess, labourers would use a Dremel or a cutting disc for this, however some products require further machining, for example the parts that mount on the bike frame, head set need to be hollow, to accommodate for the shaft it is being installed onto. To achieve this a Dremel/ cutting wheel would not be accurate enough. Most manufacturers would drill out the hole by hand on a pillar drill, however CNC technology is rapidly becoming the standard as its automated, faster, and more accurate as it can drill perfectly round holes, unlike a traditional drill. (a process known as “boring”).

Task 2 (P7):

To create the bicycle’s frame from composite materials, the manufacturer would first have to create the tube sets that are assembled to construct the frame. There are a variety of ways to manufacture these, filament winding is a wet layup process which takes the carbon fibre strands from a reel, it gets dipped them into a resin bath and gets wound onto a mandrel. This is the most commonly used method for this application as it produces hollow parts that are extremely strong and very light, as the parts where formed on a mandrel, they are hollow.

Pultrusion is another wet layup process that is also commonly used, however it differs from the filament winding process as the final product is a solid shaft rather than a hollow rod. The strands are taken from multiple reels and passed through a bath of resin to saturate them. the composite is then pulled through a die which forms it into its final shape and a saw cuts the shaft to the correct length.

To create the smaller parts of the frame, (such as the headset and the bottom bracket for the pedalling gear assembly,) dry layup methods would have to be used. filament winding can also be a dry layup process if the fibres of carbon already have strands of resin tied in with them

Tube rolling could also be used here, unlike filament winding tube rolling is a purely dry layup process. Sheets of carbon fibre are rolled around a mandrel and layered up once it meets the desired specifications. It is moved into an autoclave and heated to cure the resin. Due to the nature of this process a lip is always left behind on both the inside and the outside of the tube however the sheets of carbon fibres are so thin added that the resin smooths that lip out the lip doesn’t affect the performance of the item.

The matrix material absorbs 90% of the stress and 10% of the strain being applied to it, the reinforcement material is the complete opposite it absorbs 90% of the strain and 10% of the stress. Due to how composites react in this way to applied forces, both the matrix material and the reinforcement material need to have the correct properties. The matrix material needs to be quite tough, the reinforcement material gives it the required flexibility to enhance its strength. Manufacturers would uses epoxy as an adhesive to glue two parts together however an alternative adhesive is tetrafluoromethane.

Parts that require further machining, (depending on the complexity) may require a CNC milling machine to accurately produce the parts, as the materials are so expensive the manufacturer wants as little waste as possible.
